Hi everyone!!  It's time for another Sketch Along Tuesday over at Frosted Designs!!  This week we have a fun sketch by Debbie Burns...

Father's Day Card ~ Creative Cuts and More

Hi everyone, Today over at Die Cut Divas I am sharing with you this Father's Day Card I made using the A2 Card and Large Scallop Oval Frame #2, both in the Copper - Stardream Metallics from Creative Cuts & More.. The colors are perfect for the masculine look I was looking for on my Dad's card.. I found this perfect "man" paper in my scraps and punched the corners with a decorative punch so that the beautiful copper color would show through.. Then I layered it over the A2 Card front, and added a black jewel in each corner... The chipboard Cowboy is from Heart of Texas Studio and sprayed with Glimmer Mist. The sentiment is from SU and stamped with VersaMark and then embossed with black embossing powder.. I used my paper piercing tool to punch a tiny hole in each of the scallops around the Large Scallop Oval Frame.. Everything is held together with Killer Red Tacky Tape!!
It's quick and easy when you have most of it already cut and scored for you... All you have to do is personalize it!!

Here are a couple of challenges this will qualify for...
Craft Your Days Away ~ Father's Day/Special Man
Crafty Cardmakers ~ Love the Lasting Kind -- Someone we love and why?  It's obvious, because it's my Dad...  And the sentiment inside the card reads..
"Thank you Dad for giving me the best things in life--
Your Time,
Your Care,
Your Love,
Happy Father's Day
I love you very much!!
Simply Create ~ Special Day/Event

I hope that maybe I've inspired you to go check out Creative Cuts & More... They have so many things in so many colors and textures that you are sure to find what you're looking for...
Need multiple cards or favors for that special event coming soon?

Spradlin Family - 1948 and Mini Album Page ~ Practical Scrappers

Please see next post for my Sketch Along Tuesday - Frosted Designs Layout!!

(I had to make a few changes on this one... My cousin emailed me this morning and told me this was in 1948 and not 1947...  She and my mom were like sisters and just a few years apart.  She also said she has a newspaper clipping about the photo and it has the date on it..  She is going to email it to me...  I can't wait to get it and include it in the pocket!!!  WOW talk about a treasure!!  Thank you sooooo much, Almeta!!!)

Hello, It's me again!! I have a couple more things to share with you today..  This time it's for the Practical Scrappers Cameos and Silhouettes reveal..
The first one is a layout I did of my Mother's family back in 1948..  My mother was only 13 years old,  she was the youngest of 13 children.  In this photo are my Mother's parents (my Grandparents), some of her 12 siblings and some of their spouses, Billy, a boy that my Grandparents took in to raise, and some of her nieces and nephews..  There were 13 children in all that reached adulthood, and 3 died at either birth or within the first year...  My Grandparents had a total of 56 grandchildren, which included 2 step-grandchildren, and 3 that died young...  WOW, that's a lot of grand kids...
I haven't really scrapped my Mom's side of the family, we didn't live close to any of her relatives and only visited once a year, so I don't really know them as well as I do my Dad's side..  But I am slowly meeting more of them on Facebook which I am so excited about and I hope to meet a lot more!!!
Okay on with the details here....
Here are a few close ups...
This is my mother.. you can see that there is a tag behind her photo that has the family history on it...  The light blue layer is a piece of scrap that I dry embossed and then brushed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressing Ink, few La Patite 3-D Butterflies, a portion of a string of pearls, some Prima Say It In Pearls and a portion of the crochet doily...

Here is the Tim Holtz idea-ology ~ Ornate Plate, another La Patite 3-D Butterfly Sticker, more of the hand crochet doily, part of the MS Deco Fan corner punched circle, Prima Flower, and Cameo....

Some Prima Flowers, Decoractive Button, Prima Say In In Pearls, and Basic Grey Chipboard Bird...

Self-Portrait Challenge #1

Hi everyone!! Boy, do I have something to share with you today....  Last week I received this email from Steffie and Andrea.....

Hi,
We (Andrea and Steffie) attended a workshop on self-portraits taught by Corinne Delis. To prevent forgetting any of the content, to practice and to just have fun with what we learned we had the idea to start a challenge.

We truly love your work and would be really pleased to have you on our design team.
..................
..................
Kindest regards,

Andrea
 and
Steffie

What an honor..  At first I thought this was about scrapping your self portrait... but later found out that it is all about taking self portraits of yourself.... since most of us are behind the camera, this challenge is to concentrate on taking photos of us....  and then if you want to, you can edit them in different ways...  I've been wanting to learn Photoshop Elements 7, for a year now it's been on my computer, so this was perfect for me...  This is the first time I have used Photoshop to edit a photo and I think I did pretty good.....  It took awhile, but it was fun...  (Now if I can just figure out how to look thinner and younger!!!) LOL   Please check out the other Design Team's portraits over at the Self-Portrait Challenge Blog and we would love for you to play along....  It's on the first Friday of every month and we will have a new theme every month..  This months theme is tree..(shrubs, leaves, bushes.....), and you have all month to take that perfect photo and get it uploaded..  There will be a prize for one lucky participant that will be picked by random org....   Now remember, this is about you taking your own photo..  You know stretch that arm out there and shoot!!!  :o)

Thanks for dropping by!!
Be sure and join us over at Frosted Designs for our First On Line Crop starting tonight and going through Sunday!  Hope to see you there!!!

Rectangle Accordion Mini Album with Layers & Tin Set -- Die Cut Diva ~ Creative Cuts & More

Hello everyone!! Today I have a little Rectangle Accordion Mini Album with Layers & Tin Set from Creative Cuts & More that I want to show you.. I am using the Pomegranate Splash Bazzill Smoothies Cardstock for the mini album and the layers are in Almond Cream Bazzill Smoothies Cardstock.

My DIL loves to look at the beautiful wildflowers here in Texas, and her daughter, my granddaughter, is turning out to be just like her mother.. So Grandma decided to make DGD Savannah this little accordion mini album of some of the Texas Wildflowers so she can use it as a reference when she is out looking at the flowers...

Here's the front cover.   Remember it's for a 5 1/2 year old.   I covered it with some scrap paper and then added this 3-D sticker of the little fairies sitting on some flowers.  I printed the title off of the computer and punched it out with the SU small oval punch..

Bluebonnets are the State Flower here in Texas, and are one of their favorite wildflowers.. and the Indian Paintbrushes are right up there on the top of their list, too..  I decided to add the ribbon so she can keep the album closed, and it also helps her practice tying her bow...

Here it is untied...

Here are the front pages of the album...

Here are the back pages...

All pictures were printed off of the computer..

I just know Savannah will loooove this... I hope you enjoyed looking at it as well!!

These little mini albums come in so many different colors and you can get the layers in any color also.. They make wonderful little gifts, and you know the end of school is approaching fast... This would make a perfect gift for a Teacher. Go check them out over at Creative Cuts & More and while you're there be sure and check out the new die cuts Terry is adding daily... If you find something you like, be sure and let Terry know that I sent you and please use Code CC&M10Fern..
Happy Shopping!!!

We are very sad but we have been preparing ourselves for this... Those of you who follow my work know that about a year ago my dad was diagnosed with alzheimers and has been in the nursing home since then.. This last Monday he had a stroke and they also found that he has pneumonia... So we are going back to be with my Mom and my family for a little while..

I have a few projects scheduled to post in the next week or so.. After that we will just have to play it by ear..

Today we have a Sketch Challenge over at Frosted Designs ~ Sketch Along Tuesday and this weeks sketch is by Debbie Burns...  and here it is...

I thought this layout would be perfect to showcase DGD Savannah showing me how she can ride her bike without the training wheels...  I was sooo proud of her... and I think she was a little proud of herself too!!

Here are a few close ups..
Here you can see the little paper flowers, the diecut vine, and the sticker butterfly..

Decorative Button and another sticker butterfly..

BG Olivia paisley sticker, distressed cardboard  layer, and another butterfly..
