Amanda's Diaper Cake

Hello everyone, I just have to show you what I made for my Daughter's Baby Shower. I'm not near as creative as a lot of you are, because I didn't make one thing on this cake. I bought it all and put it together. But I think it still came out adorable. I hope Amanda doesn't read this before the shower. Because a couple of the games will be: 1) to guess how many diapers I used on it, and 2) We will ask everyone to write down everything they remember seeing on it... ..............The diapers are stacked on  plastic wedding cake plates you get at Hobby Lobby, I used 4 different sizes. Then I used some double sided tape to tape my trim around the edges. Next I rolled 81 (don't tell any of the ladies going to the shower) size 3 diapers and wrapped with rubber bands. I wanted her to be able to enjoy it for awhile, so that's why I used size 3 diapers. And, I have been stocking up on the smaller ones for her, too. Next I hid the rubber bands with a 2 1/2" white satin ribbon and then used a 1" decorative ribbon over that so that I could stick small items behind it. I used velcro circles and straight pins to hold everything in place.  I have also gone back and added a butterfly on the top.. I just thought it needed something for the little bear to be looking at!!  I took these two pictures outside today!  It was gorgeous, got up in the 60's!!! Come on Spring!
By adding the butterfly this qualifies for one challenge:

Christmas 2006 Was All About Elmo ~ Practical Scrappers Stamp Challenge

Hello everyone! It's Friday and that means it's time for me to upload my layout for the Practical Scrappers weekly challenge.  This weeks challenge is Stamps, anyway and anyhow..  I stamped my "Christmas" with VersaMark on some Red Glitter Paper and then embossed it with black embossing powder.  I was not for sure if this would work, but as to see, I think it turned out wonderful...  The only thing is you need to let it cool completely before you work with it, because it did bubble while I was heating it.  But after it cooled, it was just fine.  I also used my Stampin Up Ginoumous Flower Stamp and stamped the back of some Doodlebug Design Ladybug Crushed Velvet CS 2 times, then cut both of 'em out and used the front side, curled the petals and added a black velvet brad.
Here's my list of supplies:
Doodlebug Design Beetle Black Crushed Velvet CS
Red Velvet Flower Ribbon
Red Glitter Paper
Doodlebug Design Ladybug Crushed Velvet CS
Hero Arts Merry Christmas Stamp
SU Ginormous Flowers
Jolee's Boutique ~ Sesame Street Dimensional Elmo Sticker
VersaMark
Black Embossing Powder
Doodlebug ~ Shin-Dig ~ Beetle Black Letters
Thanks so much for dropping in, and please check out the other beautiful project from the other DT Members over at Practical Scrappers.  And you still have until Saturday at 5:00 PM ET to play and that's plenty of time to create something wonderful... So what are you waiting for!!!  Happy scrapping!!  Be sure and upload your creation so we can all see it!!!  Good luck!!
Have a wonderful day!!!
I love your visits and I would love for you to come back anytime!!

Amanda's Baby Shower Invitation

Hello everyone, here is something that I came up with for my daughter Amanda's Baby Shower Invitation.  I emailed this to her last night to get the final approval, and I am happy to say, I just got word from her that she is VERY happy with it and that I may proceed.  Boy, am I glad to hear that, because I think it turned out adorable.  She had informed me earlier that she did NOT want pastels and wanted to use the colors she is using in her nursery.   So last week when she was here I took her out to my Craft Studio and let her pick out the paper she wanted.  So at least I knew she would like that much of it.  I just had to put it together and add the embellies this last week.  The inside flap will have another piece of  SU Very Vanilla CS cut with the Spellbinders Scallop Rectangel and will have the places where she is registered.  And the
other side will have another SU Very Vanilla CS Scallop Rectangle with the info of the Baby Shower such as:
What it is:
For Whom:
When it is:
Where it is:
RSVP:

I don't have all of the details yet, but just making all of the invitations will take me a little time, especially since I have to cut most of it out by hand.   I originaly cut the baby bottle out with the Cricut New Arrival, but we didn't like the nipple on that one, so I revamped it and made this one.  So now I can't cut it out with the Cricut and anyway since I'm cutting it out on a fold it wouldn't work anyway.  So I just told the girls to bring their scissors one weekend and we will just have a cutting party!! lol  They can cut and I will watch the grand babies ~ sounds like a plan to me!!!!
This also qualifies for a few challenges out there, which are :
Your Next Stamp Challenge ~ Spring Colors
A Spoon Full of Sugar ~ Spring
Creatalicious Challenge ~ A little something
The Pink Elephant ~ Ribbon
Here's what I used:
SU Certainly Celery CS ~ bottle
SU Very Vanilla CS ~ nipple & Scallop rectangle

SU Marigold Morning Ink
Imaginisce 1.5" Ring Around the Rosies ~ sponged with
SU Pacific Point Ink

Grandma's Little Helpers ~ Savannah and Colten

Hi everyone!  Here is another layout I did for Practical Scrappers.  This one is for the Friday Sketch Challenge which is a design by Ann Katrin.  It's a wonderful sketch, and I really did start out following it, but I strayed just a little...  lol    But then again, you're just supposed to be inspired with the sketch and then make it your own.  Well, this is definitely my own..  The photos were taken back on January 17th, and the little ones had spent the night with us.  This was my daughters B-day and my daughter in laws B-day was the next week, so we were celebrating both B-days on that day over at our house.  And I was fixing dinner for everyone.  I found this fabulous recipe with a ham in one of my Taste of Home Cookbooks and I wanted to try it out.  Well, when I started getting my stuff together, the next thing I know the stepstool is up next to the cabinet and Savannah is on it and ready to help.  Well, not to be outdone, little Colten was on the bottom step and also wanted to help.  You know, anything big sister can do, he can do tooo.... lol    It was so cute I had to get the camera and take this picture.  The little photo of Colten on the bottom left is of him standing in my fridge...  EVERYTIME I opened the fridge door, he was there trying to climb in...  It was too funny.  At home he doesn't do that because their freezer is on the bottom, so not for sure why he does it over here...  Anyway they were just too cute being "Grandma's Little Helpers"!!
This is a list of what I used:
BoBunny ~ Kitchen Spice Jasmine Die Cut
Fancy Pants ~ Splendid ~ Queen of Hearts  (this is double sided)
Prima Floral Embellishments ~ Orange
Prima Vine
Fancy Pants ~ Glitter Cuts ~ Orange Boy Frame Overlay
MS Border Punch ~ Garden Trellis
SU Pacific Point CS
SU Sage Shadow CS and Ink
SU Chocolate Chip CS
QuicKutz ~  Magnolia Cookie Cutter Die Letters
Zva Self Adhesive Crystals
Stickles
This layout also qualifies for a few other challenges which are:
Practical Scrappers ~ Sketch
ABC Challenge ~ N is for New  (the Fancy Pants Glitter Frames are new)
Alphabet Challenge ~ O is for Oval  (the zva bling makes ovals)  Hey, I know I'm stretching this one...lol
Tellen's Place ~ Tic Tac Toe  ~ I chose the Flowers, Punch and Bling
Be sure and check out the other layouts the Design Team put together over at Practical Scrappers and then play along with us.  Half the work is already done... Now you just need to find the right pictures and then  add a little embellishments and there you go!!!  And, did I mention it's so much fun and very rewarding!!  Well it is!!!  After you get it done, be sure and upload it to Mr. Linky so that we can all see it..
Thanks so much for dropping by and have a wonderful weekend!!!

You're One of a Kind ~ Creative Belli Challenge #84 ~ Ribbons

Good morning everyone!!  It's Wednesday and so that means it's time for another Creative Belli Challenge!!  This week our challenge is to use ribbon on your project.  Our sponsor this week is Sweet N Sassy Stamps and they provided the team with a couple of cute digi's to work with and will be released TOMORROW!!  I decided to use the one of the little  birds and the sentiment goes perfect on this layout of my sweet little grandson Colten and his mother, my daughter-in-law, Angela.  The photo was taken May, 2009 and Colten was 6 months old.  I also wanted to make a little scene, and since it was taken out here, I decided to make it into a little farm scene .. I cut the fence, tree and leaves out with my Silhouette SD.  I colored the digi with my copics and then cut it out.  If you look real close you will see that it is attached on another layer cut with my nestabilities, which has an embossed edge.  I had to do these because this paper, which I love, had a big butterfly right there and it just wouldn't work so I had to cover it up.  And then I attached it so the limb would line up with my tree. Here is a list of the other things I used:
SU Chocolate Chip CS
SU Sage Shadows CS and Ink
Bo-Bunny's Back to Back 12" Flutter Butter
EK Success Dimensional Alphabet Stickers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four
SU Circle Punch 1 3/4"
SU Circle Punch 1 3/8"
Silhouette SD
MS Gerbera Daisy Stickers
Robbin
Buttons
Farm Stickers
Butterfly and caterpillar stickers
Stickles
Spellbinders Nestabilities

I also did this for a few other challenges which are:
Frosted Designs ~ Embossing ~ look closely under the birds....
Pile It On ~ Any non-winter colors
Flutter By Wednesday ~ Open ~ and I used 2 butterflies
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays ~ Open and at least 1 stamp
