Life has its ups and downs ~ Creative Belli Challenge #88 ~ Color Spray

Good morning everyone!!!  My internet was giving me all kinds of fits last night and this morning!!  The lap top out in the scraproom is fine, but the one in the house just wouldn't let me get on for anything!!  I don't know what I did, but I finally got on!!  Must of wore it down.........
Anyway on with this weeks Belli Challenge #88 - COLOR SPRAY - this can be a home made mixture, Glimmer Mists, Walnut Ink sprays, a bottle filled with hairspray, reinker, and Pearl Ex, or even airbrushing with your Copic markers - whatever you desire! And look at these cute images from this weeks sponsor Stampin Boutique!!  They have some adorable digis, so go check them out okay!!!!!  I decided to use this sweet Carousel Horse(s)to use on my carousel (anyway I hope it looks like a carousel) and use these cute photos of little GS Colten, taken by Laura Kay Wootan at The Smile House in San Marcos, Texas.  The bottom photo was just toooooo cute to pass up, so I went ahead and bought it... Little Colten's mother decided not to get it, I think mainly because she didn't want my DD her DH to see it...  But I think it's adorable...  Colten was having a "bad" morning at first, but then he warmed up to Laura and she got some precious photos!!!! Anyway, I thought the up and down motion of the carousel and the ups and downs of life were appropriate for this layout...  I hope you like it!!
Here's what I used:
SU Chocolate Chip CS
My Minds Eye ~ Breaking Free Cowbunga ~ Summertime Boy
My Minds Eye ~ Breaking Free Adventure Series ~ Four Miles Stripe
SU Kraft CS ~ Sprayed with

Bathing Beauty ~ Savannah; Stuck On U Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone!!!  What has happened to SPRING???   Old man winter just doesn't want to leave, And I for one, know he's worn out his welcome!!    Well, because of the cold, windy and rainy weather we are having today, I decided to hibernate in my craft studio and just scrap all day...  It's been a couple of weeks since I've played over at Stuck On U Sketches and so I decided that's what I was going to do today...  This week it's another sketch from Pagemaps, and it's a fabulous one...    I knew I had these fun photos of Savannah somewhere on my computer, I just had to find them, and then I had to find some paper to match, and then the embellies....  So it's taken me pretty much all day to make this sweet little layout of Savannah.
When DS and DDIL come over on Sundays, it's usually so late when they leave, that my DDIL just brings Colten and Savannah's night clothes and we give them their bath and dress them for bed.  Because they both fall asleep on the way home and that way she doesn't have wake them when she gets  home.  It's become a family ritual, and I always take Savannah, she's so much easier on my back.  Colten takes his bath upstairs and Savannah always wants to use the Jet tub in my bathroom.  By the time I get her hair washed and rinced, she has so many bubbles, that if I would let her, she would play forever.  Anyway, she loves to put bubbles on her chin and face and make funny faces, so this time I went and got the camera and here are a few of the photos I took.  I also found this cute bath time poem and added it to the layout there on the bathtub..  Here's what it says:

Once I'm in my bubble bath
I like to stir up more.
Half the suds go in my eyes
And half go on the floor.

The fun is in the bubbles 'cause
They giggle on my skin,
And when I stick them on my face
They dangle from my chin.

And when I splash them hard enough
They pop and disappear,
And then my bath time's over 'cause
I've made the water clear.

This poem tells it all... This is Savannah to a tee...  BTW no author was shown...
This layout also qualifies for a few blog challenges, which are:
Stuck On U Sketches ~ Sketch
Pollycraft Monday Challenge ~ Sparkly Things
Okay now for the scrappy things I used:

Precious Moments Colten at 15 months ~ Practical Scrappers Sketch Challenge

HELLO, AGAIN!!!  I just wanted to share another layout with you.  This one is for another challenge over at Practical Scrappers!  But this time it's for the Sketch Challenge.  This weeks sketch is by Ann-Katrin and it's one of those that you can make sooo girly beautiful, or you can tone it down and use it for a "guy" layout..

Poor little Colten doesn't have near the layouts that his big sister Savannah does, so I decided to make it into a little "guy" layout..  But be assured I will be using this one again for one of those girly girl layouts, too.
But for now we are takin' about this "mocho" one. lol   I absolutely love the Basic Grey papers, and I pulled out some heavy duty "hardware" to use with it.   The photo is of little GS Colten taken at the end of January, 2010 , by The Smile House there in San Marcos..  Laura Kay Wootan did another fabulous job on this photo..  This is one of my favorites, but then I say that about all of 'em...lol..
Alrighty now, here's the scrappy stuff I used on it:

Wild About You - Colten at 10 1/2 months ~ Practical Scrappers Chipboard Challenge

Happy Friday everyone!!!!  This is my layout of this weeks Practical Scrappers Challenge ~ which is Chipboard..  For my chipboard I used Bazzill Chips - Chipboard Flourishes in three of the corners.  I sprayed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Coffee Shop,  The layer behind the photo is also cut from cardboard and sprayed the same way.
Notice the cute little Monkey Pocket Patootie from The Stamping Boutique...  I printed 2 images and colored all of the first one with Copics, and then just the monkey on the second one, cut it out, and popped it up with dimensionals just to add a fun element to my layout...   I think it goes perfect with little GS Colten's Costume he wore on his first Halloween, last year.  This photo was taken of him at daycare and he was sitting in a little car, so I just cut him out of the photo, and that's why his hand sort of hangs over the edge.. He is such a cutie patootie!! Okay back to the layout...  The flower is a Prima - Alabaster Collection ~ Allissa that I sprayed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Black Cherry.. Leaves are cut with the silhouette.   Here is a list of the other scrappy things I used:

Baby Shower Invitations ~ Completed!!!

Hi everyone!  Just thought I would show you what I've been doing this last week.  These are the finished Baby Shower Invitations for my daughter!  I just finished 'em today, and Amanda has taken them with her so that she can get them mail out tomorrow...  She doesn't mind sending them out and I was sure thankful for her help.  I don't know why I always wait until the last minute to do things, especially since I've known for 3 weeks that the deadline to mail these out is tomorrow!!!  Anyway they are done and I can start on another project with a close deadline!!! lol   I really did have fun with these and I think they turned out cute!  And Amanda and Jason loved them, so I guesss I did good!!!   If you recall the sample one that I did, the layer on the front was much larger.  I think it was waaaay to large and I like this smaller layer much better.
Thanks so much for stopping in and have a wonderful week!!!

Beautiful Princess ~ Practical Scrappers Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone!!! I'm so sad to see the weekend over. :o(   I've had my own little scrap retreat this weekend and I've completed 3 layouts!!!  WoooHooo, I haven't done that in a long time.
This is the third layout I've done and it's a layout of little grand daughter, Savannah.  This is also one of the photos that was taken at The Smile House in San Marcos.   Laura Kay Wootan takes amazing photos and my picture doesn't do it justice...  But it's the best I can get, so it will have to do.  I can't believe how grown up Savannah looks in this photo.  So many friends and family actually thought she had make-up on..  But she doesn't, she's just a beautiful little girl...  I also did this for this week's sketch challenge over at Practical Scrappers.  This weeks sketch is from Ann-Katrin, and it's a pretty awesome sketch.  At first I wasn't going to play, only because I didn't have a clue what to do with it, but then I remembered what a very close friend told me not so long ago.. That was the reason for the challenge in the first place.. To search within ourself, try new things, and keep at it until you like what you see!!  Sometimes we have to go outside of our comfort zone.  Well, that's what I did on this layout.  I wasn't for sure where I was going or what it would look like when I got through with it.  I know, I know, it has a lot of bling, and I didn't add a lot of layers to it, like I usually like to do, and, it doesn't look like it would have taken all day to make, but it did!!!  Truth be told, I acrually like the way it turned out, and I'm sure Savannah will loooove it with all of the bling to match her princess outfit, including crown, earrings and high-heels..
This also qualifies for a few challenges, which are:
Practical Scrappers ~ Sketch
Hand Full of Stamps ~ Let It Shine ~ Metal Tag - the green swirls are rolled with the SU Texture Jumbo Wheel.
Flutter By Wednesday ~ Tink Photo Inspiration ~ Savannah always says she's Tinker Bell when she's in her princess dresses..
Rainbow Lady's Challenge ~ Create a Fan ~ the embellies around the photo are in the shape of a fan.
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays ~ Open ~ the green swirls are rolled with the SU Texture Jumbo Wheel.
Alphabet Challenge ~ S - Something Stamped ~ the green swirls are rolled with the SU Texture Jumbo Wheel.
And here's a list of the scrappy things I used on this creation:
SU Certainly Celery CS & Ink

Colten at 14 Months

Hi everyone, I finally got to just play around today with whatever I wanted to and so I decided to do the sketch challenge over at my favorite site.  Stuck On U Sketches has the most awesome sketches to play with and this week was no exception.  The sketch is from Becky Fleck and the twist for this week is BLING.  Wow, of all weeks for me to do a "boy" layout..  I almost forgot the bling, had to go back and add it at the last minute!! lol.
This is a picture of little Colten taken the end of January.  He's 14 months old and such and cutie pie..  Especially in his overalls and with his little chunky baby feet!!  Such a sweetheart..  It was taken at The Smile House in San Marcos, Texas, by Laura Kay Wootan.  She does amazing work...  Anyway, grandma chose a few photos to scrap, so you will be seeing more of Colten and some of Savannah in the near future...  Sorry this didn't come out all that well.  It's cloudy here today and the photo keeps coming out too dark.. But, oh well, let me just tell you that little Colten is just a doll!!
Here are a few challenges this layout qualifies for:
Stuck On U Sketches ~ Sketch
Allsorts Challenge ~ Just For Men (young or old)
Pile It On ~ Lucky Me ~ I'm the luckiest grandma to have such a sweetie pie grandson
Crafty Ann's Challenge ~ Try a New Technique, Product, Machine  ~ I actually made most of my embellies with by cricut ~ If you know anything about me, I don't use my Cricut much at all ~ I'm very intimidated by it.
