Amanda ~ Goin' To The Hop!

Hi everyone!!  It's pretty cold here today, anyway for Texas it is.  We stayed in the low 40's all day. I know that some of you would love to be in the 40's, but for us it's cold!!  So it was a perfect day for scrapping, and what better inspiration than yesterdays sketch from Stuck On U Sketches.  I love to play with their sketches, it just kinda gives me that jump start I need!!  I also found this  WILD "Pink Zebra" paper in my stash and thought, what in the world am I going to use this on?  Everytime I looked at it, it just screamed Cher from when the Sonny and Cher Show was on, way back when, and Cher played that lady at the laundry mat that wore those cateye glasses and those tight, tight leopard pants.  lol  Then I remembered that my daughter, Amanda, had gone to a 50's theme dance at school when she was around 15.  And I had borrowed this poodle skirt from a friend, who just happens to be my boss now.  The skirt worked out perfect and notice the big class ring on the chain around her neck? That was her dads.  She and her friends had a lot of fun at that dance... And I think the photos are perfect with this paper!!!
I also did this for a few other challenges, which are:
Stuck On U Sketches ~ Sketch
Crafty Creations ~ Celebration ~ School Dance
Flutter By Wednesday ~ Open ~ and I used a couple butterflies
Quixotic Challenges ~ Butterflies
Creatalicious Challenges ~ No Stamped Image

Valentine's Day ~ 2009; Creative Belli Challenge #83

Good Wednesday morning everyone!!  It's time for another Belli Challenge and this week it's Hearts of anykind..  What a perfect challenge for some Valentine's Day Cards!!  We also have some new faces on our Design Team so please check out their beautiful work.  AND our Guest Designer for this week is Christine Nay, so please check out her cute Valentine's Day Card, too.
I made a layout for this challenge using photos from last year.  Savannah is 3 1/2 and little sweet Colten is 2 months.  The "BIG APE" was a gift from my DH 2 years ago.  But instead of just giving him to me, he stuck it in my truck on the passenger side one morning as he left for work.  Well, when I went out to put my things in my

truck, all I could see was a silhouette and I actually thought someone was sitting in my truck..  Oh man, was I scared.  I was there by myself and there was someone sitting in my truck..  Well, we laugh at it now, but I told him not to do that again!! lol  Anyway the grandkids looove to play with this guy so around Valentines I bring him out and they have a blast with him.  He's so big, soft, and cuddly that they just lay on him while they watch movies.
I also did this layout for a few other challenges:
Creative Belli Blog Challenge ~ Hearts
Practical Scrappers ~ Sketch Friday
Creative Card Crew~ Punch It ~ Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch
Simon Says ~ Punch It
Crafty Creations ~ Valentines or Love
One Stop Craft Challenge ~ Fancy edges or corners
The Crafty Pad ~ At least 1 animal
Humble Pie ~ At least 2 blingy things
A Spoon Full of Sugar ~ Lots of Layering
Your Next Stamp Challenge ~ Anything that Sparkles
And here's what I used :

Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch
QuicKutz ~ Flourish ~ Cookie Cutter Die
Pink Pearlized Texture Paper ~ Framed the photos, you can't see this very well.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and please check out the wonderful projects the Belli DT (Anne, Ceal, Chris, Debbie, Holly, Jenny, Joan, Joy, Liz, Maria, Robin and Steph) came up with, and this weeks Guest DT Christine Nay.. Now let's see what you come up with, and be sure and upload your project to Mr. Linky so that we can all see!!

Blog Award

Hi everyone!!  Look at this "sweet" blog award that my dear sweet blogger friend, Sandi sent me yesterday.  I met Sandi through a wonderful challenge blog called "Stuck On U Sketches".  Which I fell in love with instantly, and then on her personal blog  "Soft Side of Sandi".  She does gorgeous work, and I am truly amazed at the embellishments she can make with her Cricut! So when I received this blog award from her, I was proud and honored that she thought of me..  Thank you Sandi, I will display it proudly!
Now, the rules are,  I've been told is this.  This is a "Knock Your Socks Off" Award for bloggers who are either new to blogging or whose work does indeed Knock Your Socks Off!  So now, it's my turn to pass it on to three (3) more blogger friends who have made a big influence in my work, or just been there to give me the encouragement I needed.  So I choose:

Joan ~ Stamping With A Passion
Holly ~ Glitter, Stamps and Ink
Anne ~ Inking In Red

I have chosen these ladies, not only because they are part of my Belli Team, but because they were also some of the very first friends I made when I first started this wonderful hobby 4 1/2 years ago..  I have actually met Joan and Holly at 2 different Shoebox Swaps here in Texas, and they also encouraged me to be a Belli Girl..

Now the second part of receiving this award is to list 10 thinks that Knock Your Socks Off!
So here goes.
1)  My wonderful parents, who laid the foundation for who I am today!
2)  My dear sweet husband, who is my rock, but also has a big soft spot and spoils me to no end!
3)  My fabulous children..  Who have grown into very strong adults and are not afraid to dream big, but they also know that it takes a lot of hard work to achieve anything worth while.
4)  My beautiful grand children...  Who we are so blessed to have living close to us.
5)  Living our all time dream life here in the country.
6)  My friends both on line and off that I'm so lucky to have..
7)  My job ~ I've been lucky enough to work for/with my boss for the past 19 years and we are still very good friends.
8)  Evenings sitting at or around the picnic table with a fire burning in the rock firepit, playing a game of horseshoes with the kids, and roasting hotdogs and marshmallows with the grandkids...
9)  Hayrides with the grandkids.  Rick (DH) on the tractor, pulling the trailer with all of us grown-ups and the little ones sitting on the hay bales..
10)  Archiver's ~ In my opinion the best scrapbook store in the world!!

Well there you have it....

Christmas, 1983 ~ Levi - 4 and Amanda - 23 months

Good Monday morning everyone ~ Happy 2010!!  It's back to "normal" for a lot of us so that means back to work...  URGGGG
This year for my New Years Resolution, instead of the normal  ~ "dieting",  I decided to do something that I know I can do.  1)  Scrap with things I already have!  (That's a hard one for me!!)  2)  Scrap my kids!  and 3)  Clean up after every project!!  Ha!Ha! (At least I'm going to try.. and 4)Learn Photo Shop Elements 7!  I have had this installed for almost a year now, and I'm totally overwhelmed when I open it up.  Mayby one of my computer expert kids can help me with this one...
I'm already on the right track with this layout..  The photos are of my little ones back in 1983.  Levi just turned 4, and Amanda is 23 months..  Levi has always looked out for his little sister (sissy) from the very beginning.  When Amanda was little, like a lot of little ones, she was sooo scared of Santa..  But as you can see, her big "bubba" was trying to make her feel a little less scared..  Gosh this seems like just yesterday, were did the time go?
Okay enough reminisecing..  Here is a layout I did that will qualify for two (2) challenges:
Twisted Sketches # 30 ~ Sketch and Glitter
