Amanda's Diaper Cake

Hello everyone, I just have to show you what I made for my Daughter's Baby Shower. I'm not near as creative as a lot of you are, because I didn't make one thing on this cake. I bought it all and put it together. But I think it still came out adorable. I hope Amanda doesn't read this before the shower. Because a couple of the games will be: 1) to guess how many diapers I used on it, and 2) We will ask everyone to write down everything they remember seeing on it... ..............The diapers are stacked on  plastic wedding cake plates you get at Hobby Lobby, I used 4 different sizes. Then I used some double sided tape to tape my trim around the edges. Next I rolled 81 (don't tell any of the ladies going to the shower) size 3 diapers and wrapped with rubber bands. I wanted her to be able to enjoy it for awhile, so that's why I used size 3 diapers. And, I have been stocking up on the smaller ones for her, too. Next I hid the rubber bands with a 2 1/2" white satin ribbon and then used a 1" decorative ribbon over that so that I could stick small items behind it. I used velcro circles and straight pins to hold everything in place.  I have also gone back and added a butterfly on the top.. I just thought it needed something for the little bear to be looking at!!  I took these two pictures outside today!  It was gorgeous, got up in the 60's!!! Come on Spring!
By adding the butterfly this qualifies for one challenge:
Flutter By Wednesday ~ Open but with Butterfly, Angel or Fairy

My sister had baby shower last week, I wish I saw this earlier. Your cake is so bright and beautiful, with so many fun things attached, so unlike white, plain diaper cake we had.

I just love this diaper cake. My friend made me one just last week for my shower and I loved it as well. The main focus was blue because of having a boy. This is super cute idea to stuff items in the cake vs. just decoration. Great job!!! :)
