Today's hop is all about SUMMER and Creative Cuts and More has a lot of albums perfect for all of your summer activities... so be sure and check that out after you finish the hop!!!
Now, for my Summer Mini Album, I decided I wanted to make an acetate/acrylic album... I've never done one, but have wanted to try one for a while now... So I chose the 6" x 6" Album Pages in Acetate from Creative Cuts & More.
I know there are a lot of different ways to decorate an acrylic album, but I decided to stick with what I thought was a pretty basic technique... I wanted a clean, 3-D effect.. First of all I painted the edges of my album with some bright acrylic paint. Then I decorated the front cover, leaving most of it clear so you could see through the whole album... I also covered the very last page with Tim Holtz alcohol inks... Love the way this page turned out!!! And now to fill the "in between" pages.. I had an idea of what I was going to do, just a matter of making it look good... I concentrated on photos of my grand kids all taken on the same day while they were playing in the pool.. I found 3 that would work together nicely, and then proceeded to cut Zach and Colten out of their photos and layer each on a different acrylic page over the larger photo of Savannah... After I got them where I wanted... I just start adding stickers, embellishments, ribbon.. anything you can think of until you get the look you like... I attached the album together with album rings and tied lots of fiber and ribbon along with some charms. I hope you enjoy it.....
Looking through all of the pages...
Front cover...
Inside of front cover...
2nd page...
3rd page...
4th page
Back side of 4th page... Details about the photos..
Last page... I used alcohol inks on this one...
And again looking through the whole thing!!!
