Colten -- So Patient ~ Sketches In Thyme Challenge No. 22

Hi everyone!!!  It's Thursday and time for "Team A" to play over at Sketches In Thyme... And this weeks sketch is from our very own Maven, Diana!!!   And what a beauty it is...  don't believe me?  Then see for yourself!!

I told you it was a beauty!  You could do a beautiful girly layout with this one for sure.. But, along with my granddaughter I have 2 little grandsons to scrap, too,  and my biggest challenge is to make some of these beautiful layouts into a little boy layout!!   So with that said, here's what I came up with..

I rearranged the photos and the oval (which I used a rectangle instead and used another photo) and then I just went to town on it... I had these darling photos of little GS Colten taken a couple of weeks ago and he just started folding his arms like this.  Isn't he just precious...  He's standing on his grandpa's flatbed trailer just watching his daddy and grandpa do a few things to the old Oliver tractor...   He knew he was going to get a ride after they were through, and he was soo good to stay on the trailer out of their way!!  I  love these photos!!!

Here are a few close-ups
Here is a close up of the corrugated letters which was in this months Swirlydoos Kit..  I used some crackle paint and Tim Holtz Distress ink on these..  You can also see the Dusty Attic Chipboard...

Here you can see the ribbon I used!!  Remember this is for a little boy so I had to do something that wasn't girly!!  I kinda like the way it turned out... You can also see the punched work and the black sticker!!

And finally, here is my other precious little man...  He is getting just to be so fun to be around...  And he is all boy ~ rough and tough, but super sweet !!

Here is my scrappy list of things I used:
The paper is from
The Paper Loft ~ Now and Then Collection
Dusty Attic Chipboard embellishment
Corrugated Letters
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Crackle Paint
Decorative Brads
Raffia Ribbon ~ twisted
MS Decorative Border Punch
SU Circle Punch
Decorative Sticker

Be sure and check out what the other Mavens came up with..  And then why don't you playing along!!!  We would love to see your take on this beautiful sketch..  Be sure and upload it so we can all see it, and, for you to qualify for our November prize ~  Which is a $25 Michael's gift card!!!
Thanks for dropping by!! Have a wonderful day!!!
Hugs!!

I have to say the first photo is just marvelous. You can see his little brow furrowing! Children are just so precious, and you capture special moments like these for them to cherish when they are older. Fabulous papers Fern, and love the way you used that ribbon.

I have trouble with boy layouts, so I can totally relate. First, what adorable pix of your little man! He's a doll! Love the ribbon .. great way to embellish the more masculine pages. And the corrugated letters are the perfect touch! Hope you have a great crafty or family weekend! Hugs!

Gorgeous layout, Fern! I just love how you make those manly layouts, keeping the vintage/shabby atmosphere on them.
Being a mom of two boys, I'm taking a lot of inspiration from your boyish layouts.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations with us.
And thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my blog, a real ego booster.. LOL
Have a wonderful weekend,
Hugs!
