Country Bumpkin ~ Savannah

Hi everyone, I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day and took a moment to thank the men and women who make this the most wonderful place to live!!

We didn't have much going on this weekend so I managed to get 3 layouts done, but 2 are for next Thursdays Sketches in Thyme and The Pink Elephant Scrap Challenges..  So be sure and check out both of these fabulous challenge blogs Thursday, and you won't want to miss my layouts either...

This layout was for pure~dee fun!!  I started out using the sketch from Stuck On U Sketches, and yes I swayed just a little... But I have done this gorgeous sketch before when it came out in my Swirlydoos kit and I must say I followed it pretty closely at that time, so I wanted to make this one a little different... Anyhooo "That's My Story And I'm Stickin' To It!!!"   Well, see for yourself .  Here's this weeks sketch, which by the way is from Beggahuna and pretty awesome!! And now

Friday I went shopping at my favorite stamp store, Archiver's and boy did I do some damage!!!  Among other things I bought these cute 3-D frames and flowers.  The frames just screamed Savannah and I sooo wanted to use them on this sketch, so I went through my photos and found these of Savannah feeding the little goats and bunnys... and the rest is history...  I really luv the way it turned out and I hope you do too!

Family Fun ~ The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge No. 9 ~ WOO HOO This Layout was chosen as a Top 5 over at ABC Challenge Blog V ~ Vintage Challenge!!!

Hi everyone!!  It's time for another challenge over at The Pink Elephant and this time it's a Theme Challenge!!!  We want to see some Summer Themed Layouts!!  So start going through those piles and piles of photos that we all have that need to be scrapped and look for those photos of a summer vacation, a summer picnic, or anything around the water, you get the picture "Fun and Summer"!!!  Be sure and upload your creation so that we can all see it!!!

New Scrappy Challenge Blog ~ Sketches In Thyme

Hello everyone!!!  Have I got some exciting news for you!!  I think most of you know Kim from Memories In Thyme, and those of you who don't know her, well it's about time you met her.  Because she has created a brand spankin' new Challenge Blog called Sketches In Thyme and just like the name it's going to be a wonderful scrap book sketch challenge.  So, when does it start, you ask?  The very first challenge will be up and running June 3rd, and then every other week we will have another sketch.  But don't wait until June, 3rd, go check out the blog now because she will be introducing the Design Team Members daily....  Yep, you guessed it, I'm one of 'em!!!  Woo Hoo!!!   So please be sure and display our challange badge to your sidebar to help us get the word out..  We would also love for you to become a follower and play along with us.. Birthday Girl ~ Stuck On U Sketches

Hi everyone!! Didn't get much scrapping done this weekend because I was babysitting the little grand babies.  A scraproom and an 18 month old just does not mix, if you know what I mean.  I did get the final touches on this layout late yesterday after everyone went home, but it was too late to upload it last night, so here it is.  I also designed this from the sketch over at Stuck On U Sketches .

This week's sketch was created by Stepahanie Vaughn at Scrap Sketch.  The photos I used are from Savannah's Birthday Party last summer..  If you can't tell (look at her beautiful hair), it was a pool party...  Her Uncle has this very large castle that you air up with a little generator and it has a couple of water slides attached to it..and well you can guess the rest!!!  The kids just loved it... You will see more layouts of this later on.  The theme for her Birthday was Tinker Bell..  Her cake has Tink on the top, I don't know if you can see that or not..  Her other grandmother made the cake and I think she did a beautiful job on it!!

Wedding Card

Little Momma ~ Amanda ~ six weeks to go!!!

Hi everyone!!! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!!  It's cloudy and very humid here, but not raining!!!  We already had 3 inches Friday and yesterday, and makes it real hard to take a good photo!!!  This is the best I can do for now...  This photo is of my daughter Amanda, who as you can see is very pregnant!!!  But still not very big at all considering she only has 6 more weeks to go in this photo...  I think I was probably that big in my 4th month and not my 8th month... lol...  She said she was going to wear that bikini know matter what, and by golly and she did, too!!!!lol....  Look at that little round basket ball...  Anyway, enough about that and on with this layout....  First of all I used a fantastic sketch from Liz Qualman over at My Little Sketch Blook She has so many fabulous sketches, you've got to check 'em out!!!  Here's the one I used.  It's actually her sketch icon, but she said that we could use it if we liked, and I thought it would work perfect for this layout!!!! 

The next challenge I most definitely was going to play is over at  Stuck On U Sketches.  This being the second week of the month the girls have a challenge instead of a sketch and so this worked perfect  for me.  The challenge is "buttons".  Pretty easy, so you can see that I used 2 buttons on my layout.  I stacked them on top of each other over the turned up edge..  And so now that I'm on a roll I wanted to check out some of the other fantastic blogs I like to participate in, just to see what they have going on, and just look what I found!!!  WOW!!!

Something Happy and Something Very Sad and Disturbing!

Hi everyone!!  Wooo Hooo ~ look what came in the mail while I was away... 
First of all, we all got home safely yesterday afternoon and I spent the rest of the day trying to get everything put away and get the laundry caught up.  I also had a little time to play in my scraproom.  But I can't show you what I did until later this week.  So be sure and check back...

But I can share with you the fabulous prizes that I received in the mail by 2 very talented ladies. 

The first one is from Agnes ake Flowerdisco...  If you remember I won her drawing for that cute little bag..  And look what she threw in with it... 2 wonderful stamp sets, and look, one is about the "beach".  You can bet I will be using these...  And, she also made me this sweet card.....   Agnes, you're such a sweetheart and such a dear sweet friend......  Can't wait to put this together!!!  Thank you sooo much!!!  Hugs!!!

And then if you remember, I won first place over at Scrap It with a Song a couple of weeks ago ~ which the song  was "Once Upon a Dream"..  And the winner was to receive a handmade LO from Beatriz at Amazing Grace well, you guessed it!! She made me this beautiful "Scrapbook Queen" layout for my scraproom, and framed it and everything!!  And she also made me a very cute card...  Thank you Bea, you too, are such a sweetie!!  And I will display my award proudly...   Actually, right now I'm feelin' a little like a queen with 2 beautiful prizes.....

Now for my sad and disturbing news...  Yesterday after we were home for awhile my neighbor to the left called and told me she was just "wanting to fill me in" about my neighbor on my right.  For all of you who don't live in the country, I'll just let you know that your neighbors could  be anywhere from a block away, to being miles on down the road.  This neighbor is about a quarter of a mile from me.. And I didn't really know them very well, they kept to themselves mostly, but just waved when we passed on the road.  Anyway, she proceeded to tell me that the husband, who is just a little older than I am, killed himself last week and they had just found the body yesterday...  He had stormed out of his house last Monday and his wife had not seen him since.  On Wednesday she filed a missing persons report... My neighbor didn't have any other details, I'm not for sure I want any details..  This is just so disturbing for me...  You watch the news and read the papers, but you just don't think about it happening in your own back yard...  I just can't understand why anyone would want to do this..  or think that this was the only answer!!  
So sorry, I didn't mean to bring anyone down...  It was just such a shock to us, especially since we had just come home from having a fun time with our family.....

Mini Vacation

Hi everyone!!  Just a short note to let everyone know that I'm on my 'Mini" vacation until Monday!!  The whole family is in Rockport on a fishing trip....  So we have 3 families and one wireless laptop, that is veeeeeeery slow..  I can see some of the blogs but can't open up most of the comments... so I will play catch up Monday evening when I get home!!!  I hope everyone has a Happy Mother's Day!!!

Ooh La La, Look what sweet Barb (Crafty Girl) is sharing!!   Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca..  and what a fine specimen of a man he was!!!  Whoa nellie,  better slow down, I think I may be having a "hot flash"  lol..  But just so you know, I wasn't around when the original movie was out, but I've watch it many times... Heck, I wasn't even born yet when he died in 1957..  But I think he's still easy on the old eyes!!!!
Okay back to sweet Barb (Crafty Girl) ..  I know most of you already know her because she has got to be one of the sweetest blogger/person out there.... always a kind word for everyone and does beautiful work to boot!!  I really didn't get to know her until she won my blog candy, and now it's like I've known her all my life...  Just a super, super sweetie and soon to be a Texan just like me. lol...  So please take some time and hop on over there and see what I'm talking about!!!  Thank you Barb!!!!!!

Where I would like to be in 10 years  ~  That's easy..... right here where I'm at, but full time (meaning retired)....  doing what I love to do the most ~ scrapping...  I'm hoping to have a few more grand kids and plan on spoiling all of them... I'm really happy and blessed with my life right now....

Mother's Day Card No. 2 ~ 2010

Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful Tuesday!!  I just now got my final Mother's Day card done...  They should have been mailed out today...  But nooo,  I've got to be one of the worlds worst procrastinators, and then wind-up doing everything the last minute!!!  Actually I think I do better under stress, but I know it's not good for my health!! 
Any way I looove the way this card turned out.  Kinda shabby chic / vintage / victorian!!  My mom will probably think this is something I've held on to since I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade, because of  how "dirty" it looks!!!  lol  Not really, I know she'll love it, how could she not, it's from her "little" girl!!!!  Oh, by the way, the 2 large flowers are handmade!!!!!  woooo hoooo I'm on a roll...  I really do like making these!!  You will be seeing more of 'em for sure!!!  I hope you like it!!

...and they lived Happily Ever After (2 Pager)

Hello everyone!!  Doesn't the weekend just fly by??  It sure does for me, especially when I'm scrapping..  The only person that came over this weekend was our son and he stayed out at the shop and helped his dad, so I was pretty much on my own!!! :o)  Next week all of the family, My husband and I, our son and his wife and 2 little ones, our daughter and her husband are all going on a little "family" vacation and I can't wait.  It's actually our first one and I know we are going to have a blast!!  So I guess they were letting me "rest up" this weekend!! lol...  Anyway, since I was on my own I decided to do a few of the challenges out there in blogland...   The first one I remembered was The Pink Elephant Scrapbook challenge, which was to make your own  paper flowers.  :o(   I knew that one would really be a challenge for me, and then the new challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches came up on Friday, and we were given the sketch, BUT, it was a 2 pager!!  Another challenge for me since I don't do many of those....  So I knew I was going to combine these two challenges for sure, Now I just had to find the right photos for it..  And I always say, when in doubt go to the "Wedding drawer".  I can always find something in there and I do need to get them scrapped..  So, here are three (3) photos from Amanda's Wedding Reception.  Actually the Reception is over and they are leaving and if you look closely you can see them walking through all of the bubbles.

I did follow the sketch for the most part, but I still wandered just a little.  But, hey, that's okay..  And I am very proud of myself for making all of the flowers on both pages!!!!  I can see now why you just make the little ones... The 2 large ones really stand up pretty high and I'm not for sure I can get them in the sleeves...  Oh well, live and learn.. I still like 'em...  And I hope you like 'em as well...  I really wanted to add some little flower buds, but, just don't know if I could have made them...  After I get this posted, I may go back and put some little buds in with the blooms.. (Please don't tell on me)!!!! :o)

2010 Mother's Day Card - # 1 ~ I made the Top 5 over at MelJen's Designs!!!

Hello everyone!!!!  Happy International Scrapping Day, and Happy Anniversary to me!!  WOW ~ 33 years today and still happy as ever!!  But then, that may have something to do with the medication I'm on!!! lol
