Onward Bound ~ Savannah and Barnyard Buddies ~ Colten

scroll down to see The Pink Elephant Challenge #21

Hi everyone!  It's Thursday and this week I have two (2) layouts to share with you...  The first one is for Sketches In Thyme and the sketch is from  Helen Croft at scrap-a-little-sketches:
And what a fun sketch this is... You can make it fancy, fancy, or just have some fun with it...  I decided to have a little fun with it.. using these bright colors with this super sweet photo of GD Savannah!!  And here's what I came up with..  As you see I only used 1 photo instead of 2..  I did a little fussy cutting on this one... The big blue swirls are cut from TPC Studio Undersea Adventure Water Surface.  Notice the tassel, it's yarn..   This is a photo of little GD Savannah this last June at her Pre-K Graduation..   She was so excited ~ just look at that smile on her face...  Kindergarten starts Monday and Angela said Savannah is so ready...  Where has the last 5 years gone..
Here are a few other challenges this qualifies for:
Sketches In Thyme ~ Sketch
Crafty Creations ~ Butterflies
Creative Card Crew ~ Sparkle and Shine
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge ~ Flower Power
Here are a few close ups:
This is the Prima Say It In Crystals ~ I got this at Hobby Lobby and I really like the way it's shaped like a ribbon...

And this is the pretty glass pendant butterfly from Beaded Treasures, which I also found at Hobby Lobby...
And here is the Prima Homespun Elegance Knox Gold Flower... Isn't it gorgeous!!  goes perfectly with the gold in her tassel!!

And here is the tassel ~ I found this in my stickers and I love the 3-D effect it adds to the photo!!
Here is the list of scrappy things I used:
SU Summer Sun CS
TPC Studio ~ Undersea Adventures ~ Sea Stripe
TPC Studio ~ Undersea Adventures ~ Water Surface
Dark Blue Star Paper
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist ~ Olive Vine, Candlelight & Pearl
Beaded Treasures Glass Pendant ~ Butterfly
Prima Flutter Vine
Prima Home Spun Elegance Knox Gold ~ Flower
Prima Say It In Crystals
Thickers Vera Vinyl Letters
Be sure and check out the other Mavens and see their beautiful layouts...  We would love to have you play along.. If you do, remember to upload it so we can all see it... Have a wonderful day!!

This week we have a fun Recipe Challenge over at Ella's Pink Scrapbook ~ Cardboard, Journaling and Circles!!  Now how easy is that...  Actually I have trouble journaling on my layouts so it wasn't all easy for me.. And most of the time I do my journaling on the back..  But all in all, I like the way this one turned out...  I love the photo of little GS Colten on Ellie!  He was giving her a big 'ole hug!!  Colten is turning out to be grandpa's little country boy!!  He loves being out with the guys..
Here are a few challenges this one qualifies for:
The Pink Elephant ~ Recipe - Chipboard, Journaling and Circles
Charisma Cardz Challenge ~ Die Cuts
If The Shoe Fits ~ Die Cuts
Here is a close of the Hanging Sign and below that is the Hardware both cut with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Big Die ~ I love the way they turned out and I will be using more of these two items...  I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink on these..
Notice the cardboard under the photo...  Just tore it and then inked it with SU Close to Cocoa Ink..

Here is a rope I found in my sticker stash... I inked it up to make it look grungy..

Here is the list of scrappy things I used:
SU Chocolate Chip CS
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain & Crushed Olive
Glitz Design~ Vintage Love
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist ~ Olive Green & Chocolate Covered Cherries

Love all the fussy cutting on the first one, so glad you showed the close ups so much detail we would have missed.
Your second layout is wonderful also, love all the distressing to make it so fun.

How fabulous, a boy layout and a girl layout. Both are so different but equally fabulous.

These layouts are wonderful. I especially like the onward bound LO. You have a good eye for color and texture. The added butterfly on the first layout is perfect for our challenge at Crafty Creations - thanks so much for playing along!
