Hi everyone!! Happy Friday.. I've been MIA lately and I apologize for that, but this is my first summer being a "cowgirl" literally, and I have to make sure my cows have plenty of water during these hot summer days and I'm also feeding them a little so they won't eat up all of the grass... So what I'm trying to say is - I'm spending a lot of time over at the farm and not much time in my scrap studio!!! :o(
But, not to worry, I have a reveal for today's new sketch over at Stuck On U Sketches and this sketch will make you think just a little... Anyway it did me.... But not to worry because we have lots of inspiration from the Design Team over at SOUS..
Here's my layout!!!
AND
Here's Leah's original sketch...
As you can see I flipped mine since I was using a large photo of an "old" oak tree, I wanted it too look like we were sitting under it instead of on top of it.... Also you can see I just cut up an 8 1/2" by 11" photo for my photo collage instead of using a lot of different small photos...
I also wanted to use the statistics of this old tree on the layout, but I would have to make it quite large for you to be able to read it..... So I've added it on the back.. (Click on photo to see the whole plaque)
Here are a few close ups...
Here you can see a close up of the photo collage and distressed edges....
Distressed Edges, Decorative Oval Frame, 3-D Butterfly Sticker, Prima Say It In Crystals, Feathers, and Petaloo Flowers.
Distressed Edges, Petaloo Flower Cluster, Lace Ribbon, and Feathers....
This layout will qualify for a few challenges...
Stuck On U Sketches ~ Sketch
Moving Along With The Times ~ Summer
PaperPlay Challenges ~ Layer It Up
For Your Inspiration ~ Photo Inspiration
Crafts and Me Challenge ~ Green with Envy
Fab n' Funky ~ Anything But A Card
Here is a list of scrappy things I used on this layout...
Stampin' Up Cardstock
Glitz Design ~ French Kiss
Decorative Oval Frame
K&Company 3D Butterfly Sticker
Prima Say It In Crystals
Petaloo Flowers
Lace Ribbon
Feathers
Thanks for dropping by and be sure and check out all of the inspiration over at SOUS!!!
Have a wonderful day!!

What a gorgeous old oak tree and I loved that you used the pic large here. Beautiful page.
Stunning! I LOVE how you made a collage of the photo! Brilliant! The way you flipped the sketch works so perfectly with the photo. Love love love it!
WOW Fern, you rocked the sketch. I never think to change the orientation, but you have made it your own. That is a phenomenol tree, and I love that you used just a single photo and chopped it up to keep with the sketch. The details around the title are so pretty - another Fern classic. Love it... Hugs xx
Love your interpretation of the sketch! Love the photo of the tree and the decorative oval frame is so beautiful! A beautiful layout!
