So Happy Together! ~ Stuck On U Sketches "Get To Know Me" Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!!!  I hope you're enjoying the SOUS "Get To Know Me" Blog Hop so far!!!  You should have arrived here from the very talented Faith-Abigail's Blog and if you didn't, you need to go to SOUS and get all of the details and the list (in order) of the participants.. and then just follow the blog path and have fun!!!!

Here's my layout about myself... Actually this is me and my husband...
I titled it "So Happy Together" after the Beatles song with the same title...  and I think the lyrics from the song are just perfect for us...

Here is this weeks awesome sketch designed by our talented Sandi Clarkson...
Lots of possibilities here....  I hope you get to play along with us!!

Here are a few close ups....

Here are some fussy cut roses that I cut and layered over the corner of a Wooden Picture Frame, Doily, and Prima Say It In Pearls.  You can also see some of the Distressed Edges and a Frame I made using the MS Vintage Floral Border/Corner Punches.

Distressed Edges, Hidden Journaling Tag with SU Ribbon stapled to it, MS Vintage Floral Corner Punch for the circle, Part of the Doily, Wooden Scallop Frame, and MS Vintage Floral Border Frame...

Here are the lyrics of the song.., Distressed Edges, Dusty Attic Flutterbies, MS Vintage Floral Corner Punch for the circle, Part of the Doily, Wooden Scallop Frame, MS Vintage Floral Border Frame, and Prima Say It In Pearls...

10 questions about me!!!

1A) If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
I think I would be brown....
  1B) Why?
Because brown is a neutral color, it doesn't stand out, and can go with most all other colors.

2. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I've always had an inferiority complex/lack of self confidence....  The whole time I was growing up I've always worried about what other people thought of me...  I know this will be hard for some of you to believe,  but I'm a very shy person...  Just thinking about having to talk to a group of people literally makes me sick....

3. What 5 things are always on your crafting table?
1) ATG Tape Runner
2) Ruler
3)X-acto Knife
4) Scissors
5) Paper Cutter

4. Your go-to embellishment is ...
Prima Bling.... (Say It In Pearls/Say It In Crystals)
And/or
Martha Stewart Punches
5. What is your all-time favorite crafting tool?
My little cheap distressing tool....

6A). Tell us about your family .. first in one word.
Strong!!
6B). Then in a sentence or two.
Because of the bad economy 26 years ago, my husband and I, along with our 2 very small children left our home town.  Six months later my husband was fortunate enough to meet the man who he is currently working for.  ..   I know it was hard on our children growing up away from their grandparents and cousins, but it also provided them the chance in becoming the strong individuals they are today...  and I am so proud of both of them... But, I don't think we could have accomplished any of this without strong family values!!

7. What is your dream vacation?

Anything to do with nature...the fewer the people, the better..

8. Who is your favorite crafty company?
This week ~ Kaisercraft ....  :o)
next week ????

9. Tell us a bit about your crafty style.
Gosh, I'm not so sure  my style has a name... but if I had to name it, I would go with grungy..  I love distressed inky edges...

10. Where do you live?
I am most definitely a country girl!!!

WOW, I hope I didn't bore you!!! LOL  Some of those questions really made me stop and think about my past...
Okay, here is the yummy prize one lucky player will win over at SOUS..  be sure and read all of the instructions here... to be eligible to win

Sweet Smile ~ Practical Scrappers Tag Challenge -- CHOSEN AS A TOP THREE OVER AT INCY WINCY!!

Hi everyone!!!   My layout today is for the "Tags on Layout Challenge" reveal over at Practical Scrappers.  The tag I used is the same one I made here for Practical Scrappers CMT (Challenge Me Tuesday) Challenge - Raw Chipboard, back in May, 2011...  I've held onto it just waiting for that special project to use it on and I think it goes perfect along with the photo of  my daughter Amanda, on this Spring layout...  We were talking about this photo this weekend and neither one of us know exactly when it was taken...  She said she thought she was around 14 or 15 years old, so that would make it around 1996 or 1997..  My husband's boss took the photo at a summer backyard picnic.. and I just found it the other day and right away I knew I had to scrap it...

Here are a few close ups....
Here is a close up of the Chipboard Tag, and again, you can find the details here.....  You can also see a little of my masked flourishes made with the Crafters Workshop Swirls & Flowers Template, and some of the Distressed Edges....

Distressed Edges,  more Masked Flourishes made with the Crafters Workshop Swirls & Flowers Template, If you look closely you can see that I also used the Chicken Wire Template from The Crafters Workshop, MS Garden Trellis Deep Edge Punch, SU Big Shot Big Lattice Die, Ribbon and Heart Gem attached to Tag..

I've Joined a New Sketch Team!!!!!

Good morning everyone!!  I haven't been on here much since returning from Oklahoma, I think I just needed a little down time, but don't worry, I'm getting back into the swing of things, in fact I have a couple of projects to share with you later this week and I hope you'll stop back by and take look!!!

Now the main reason for this post!!!

I have some very exciting news to share with you!!!!  I have been selected as one of the new designers over at Sketchabilities.   My term will be from April thru June and I can't wait to get started...  If you haven't been over there, you really need to check out Karen's beautiful sketches...  And while you're there you might as well play along!!

I also want to share with you what I've been doing the last 3 days...  I'm trying to get my scrap studio in order so I've taken an online Organizational Class.  I don't know why I buy so many stickers, but when they go on sale I always have to pick up a few.  Well, over the years I "picked" up close to 10 plastic containers worth....  But I hated digging through them, so I don't use them.  Well, not anymore...  take a look....

First I had to separate all of them by themes....  (This is just a few of them)

Next, I put them in Scraprack pages and/or Page Protectors and then stacked them per theme...

And here's the final result.... (The post it notes will be taken off when I get the tabs done!)   I love this system and now it's so easy to look for that perfect sticker.  I just need to do a lot of paper purging now!!! :o(

Thanks for dropping by!!
Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs!!!
