Hello everyone!!!  It's Friday and we have another reveal over at SOUS and today's great sketch is from Liz Qualman.  If you like to scrap multiple photos this sketch is for you...

   Before I get into my layout... I have a little sad news to share with you... I have decided to step down from the Stuck On U Sketch Design Team and the Stuck On U Die Cut Team..  Since Rick and I bought some more land and now have a few head of cows, I just can't keep up with all of my scrappy responsibilities.  I have truly, truly enjoyed being a part of this amazing team, and I would be telling a lie if I said I won't miss these wonderful ladies.  But, don't worry, I will be playing along when I can....

Christmas Card ~ Color Core/White Core Cardstock Projects - Practical Scrappers

Good Monday morning everyone!!!!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for some  scrappy inspiration!!!  Today over at Practical Scrappers we are revealing color core/white core cardstock cards/layouts...  I decided to go with white core cardstock for this Christmas Card.  I used paper from Close to My Heart and embossed it with the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded over the top...  I really love the way it made the snowflakes pop!! The image is from Stampin'up which I colored with my copics and then added a lot of stickles... finished it off with ribbon, flower, pin and snowflake buttons...

Love Grows Mini Album ~ Stuck On U Die Cut Challenge - Heart(s) ~ FEATURED over at Little Red Wagon

 

Happy Friday everyone!!!  Today's reveal over at SOUS Die Cut Challenge is "HEARTS".. Now remember, you can use any die cutter or die cut, on any type of project; layout, card, tag, or altered project. Our only requirement is that it must be NEW as of 9/23/2011 and you must use "heart(s)"!!  How easy is that!!! 

I decided to use this Acrylic/Chipboard 8" x 8" Mixable Album from Clear Scraps that I got from CKC in San Marcos last week, and I absolutely love the Vintage look....  I also used the QuicKutz Hearts cookie cutter die, as my "heart", which I embossed and then distressed just a little..

I Sponged the edges of the album with Timber Brown Staz-on Ink, and then outlined them with a Krylon Pale Gold leafing pen.  Added pearls with the Viva Decor Dark Brown Pearl Pen..  Charms are from the Prima Vintage Trinket Collection except the locket heart, which is from a necklace.

Don't you just love the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Papers?!!!!!  I think they are one of my favorite papers out there!!!!!

Notice the little "Fairy" tag on the left..ticked behind a fussy cut flower.  2 photo mats on the right...

Sorry for the little bit of glare!  It's so hard for me to get a good photo of Acrylic...

Fussy cut the little angel on the right.  Added the flowers and more hearts..

Added some Prima Flowers, a Martha Stewart Butterfly and ribbon..

Notice all of the stamping around the edges of the last page..  I used the Heartfelt Creations Flourish Stamp.

Savannah's Kindergarten Memories Mini Album ~ Creative Cuts and More ~ WINNER at CES Challenge!!!

Hi everyone!!  Today I want to show you this cute 6" x 6" chipboard mini album I made using goodies from Creative Cuts & More.  I made this album for GD Savannah so she could go through some of her favorite photos from last year and keep them all together.  I hope her and her mother will have fun gathering the photos for this mini!!

Hello everyone!!  A little behind on my post...  Yesterday was so busy and I didn't have time to do any blogging at all....  Today should be back to normal, anyway normal for me!!! :o)

Hi everyone!!!  Forgive me for not being my usual self, but for some reason I just can't seem to shake this horrible depressed feeling I have from the fires here in Texas....   The last 2 days I've just felt so helpless...

So this will be a short post..

Today we have another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches, and this one is "Flower(s)"..

I've used a lot of different cartridges and punches on this cute layout of my 2 Great Nieces..  I actually took this layout back with me on vacation and gave it to my sweet/crazy Sister in Law.  These are her 3 beautiful granddaughters... and I hope she enjoys it..   We had the best visit with them this last week...  Just didn't last long enough since we had to come home early!!! :o(

Texas fire updates!!!!

Just a quick update about the wildfires close to us here in Texas. We were on vacation and didn't even know about them until my SIL Nora told us yesterday around noon.. Rick and I decided to cut our vacation short so we could protect our home and to save our animals if we needed too. We left Mom's house around 7:30 PM and pulled in our drive at 3:30 AM. The smoke was very thick and was affecting my allergies big time. Today we drove around just a little and found out that the Delhi fire is within 5 miles of our house and the Bastrop fire is heading more to the east of us.. Unless the wind changes back to the SE we should be out of its path. My heart goes out to all of the people who have been evacuated and who have lost their homes, pets and livestock. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Here's the stats on the Delhi fire, which is in a very rural area.
This one is within 5 miles from us...
Delhi , Caldwell County. 8,000 acres, 40 percent contained. Twenty homes were saved and six were lost on this fire east of Lockhart.

This one we are watching very closely...
The smaller fire, to the west of Bastrop and called the Union Chapel fire, has consumed about 800 acres and destroyed 28 homes. Some 150 homes are threatened, and 200 people have been evacuated. That fire is only 20 percent contained.

This one is to the Northeast of us for now....
BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - The largest fire in Central Texas, ripping through Bastrop, is now 30 percent contained as of 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.
The Southern Area Type 1 Red Team will be in place in Bastrop County early Wednesday morning, and they will have access to firefighting experts from across country.
They will be able to plan better attacks on the fires that continue to destroy homes and lives.
Two people have died while two fires continue to burn on either side of the city of Bastrop.
Bastrop complex fire
The biggest fire is just east of the city, which has consumed 38,089 acres and destroyed 576 homes. It is 30 percent contained.
Heavy airtankers and single-engine airtankers assisted on this fire that started in the Lost Pines area just northeast of Bastrop. The fire continues to move rapidly to the south, with some eastward movement. Numerous subdivisions have been evacuated.

Savannah, Back 2 School ~ Stuck On U Sketches

Hi everyone!!  Can you believe it's already September!!!!  The holidays will be here before we know it!!!  I'm kinda excited about that this year, being home and all....  Wow, did I get off track, or what?!!!  Back to the present....  Today is Friday and that means that it's time to reveal another beautiful sketch over at Stuck On U Sketches....  And this week's sketch is from our very own Sandi Clarkson and it's a beauty!!!

I decided to scrap my GD Savannah's first day of School...  This year she is in the first grade..  At first she wasn't too excited to go back to school, but her mother told me after seeing old friends and making new ones she has changed her mind...  I'm so glad to hear that...
