Grandma's Blessings ~ Sketch Along Tuesday @ Frosted Designs

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and that means time for another Sketch Along Tuesday over at Frosted Designs.  This weeks sketch was created by Debbie and it's a good one...  Sooooo many possibilities with this one.. Just see for yourself.

And as you can see I turned my photo the opposite way and then just had a little fun with it..  The photo is of me with all of my little grand kids taken a couple of weeks ago at Colten's B-day party... Of course we couldn't get him to stay still long enough to get a picture, so DH did the best he could and I think he did a fantastic job...  The day before was in the 80's and then it rained Friday night a little cold front came through with the wind blowing out of the north..  We were so afraid they would have to cancel the party, but it turned out beautiful after all...  Here I am holding little 5 month old Zach, Savannah (5 yrs) is petting the sweet baby goat, and Colten (2 yrs) is just having a blast chasing and trying to catch any and all of the animals....  I bet the little animals were ready to go home that day...
Really this layout is about CAS as I get...  and I since it is a layout of all my little ones I wanted to add something fun/whimsical to it... Hence the font and handmade flower...

Lil' Colten's Birthday Roundup ~ SOUS

Hi everyone, it's Friday and that means that it's time for another fabulous sketch challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches!!  

And it's a beauty,  Oh, did I  mention this sketch was also created by Vanessa Waller (Crafty Ness) exclusively for SOUS!! 

So here's what I came up with...  This cute layout of little GS Colten  is from his 2nd B-day Party just 2 weeks ago..  His parents rented a petting zoo and he had a blast... so did all of the other little kids and even the "BIG" kids got in on the fun!!!  I love the fact that this weeks sketch had multiple photos... it worked perfect with these precious photos..

Here you can see the paper flowers, the Prima vine, and the rabbit and the goat are stickers from Creative Imaginations.  You are also able to see the SU Weathered BG Stamped on the Sign cut from the Cricut Old West Cart. 

I thought the feed sacks turned out too cute... They are also cut from the Old West Cricut Cart. and then are sponged with Tim Holtz Walnut Distressing Ink.

Koch Family 1950 ~ Sketches In Thyme Challenge No. 24

Hi everyone!!  It's Thursday and that means it's time for another sketch over at Sketches In Thyme!!  Today's sketch is from Creative Scrappers and just  look at the layers you can use on this one, or not!!   That's the fun part about working with sketches...  You design it to fit your photos!!  -- you can copy it verbatim, or turn it, or add to it, or take away from it... All we ask is that you HAVE FUN WITH IT!!! 

This week I've been going through my grandmother's old photo albums and decided to go heritage/vintage..  If you visited early this week you saw my Great Grandparents (1904)  layout that I did for Frosted Designs...  Now for this layout I chose this family photo of my Dad, my Uncle, my Grandmother and  my Grandfather taken around 1950..  I hope your like it.

Here are is some of my distressing... Including distressing the decorative frame with Tim Holtz Walnut Distressing Ink and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Copper..  BTW my dad in sorta in the back there with the big smile on his face...  I believe that this was when he proposed to my mom..

Here are my different punched layers with lace between..  Sprayed the lace with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Olive Vine.  You can also see the SU Victorian Lace BG Stamp which I stamped with SU Basic Brown on the Basic Grey Cappella Pageantry..

Great Grandparents (1904) ~ Sketch Along Tuesday at Frosted Designs

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and that means another Sketch Along Tuesday over at Frosted Designs, and this one is by DT Member Diana.. and it's a great one..

So many possibilities with this one ~ just let your imagination go wild....  I thought it was a perfect sketch for a vintage layout, so that's what I went with and I really love the way this one came out...  The photo is of my Great Grandparents, which I never knew..  My Great Grandfather died before my Granddad was even born and by Great Grandmother died before I was born..  I found this wonderful photo in my Grandmother's photo album which I inherited after she died.. (Don't tell my sister and brothers ~ but hey, it stayed in my Grandmother's house for 4 years after she died, and since I live the furthest away and they didn't take it, I did  this last summer when I went back home!!)  She has some fabulous old family photos,  some in pretty good shape and some that aren't, but they all mean so much to me..  And I am so happy to keep them for the next generation!!!

Creatalicious Challenge #13 ~ Prize

Hi everyone!  Here is something else that I want to share with you.. Awhile back my "Letha's Family 1938" layout was the winner over a Creatalicious Challenge #13-Vintage..  and I just have to show you what I won....  This came all the way from Australia and had a little problem getting here, but the girls over at Creatalicious are just awesome... They kept me posted on what was going on, and after it being returned back to them all wet and destroyed, I finally got this... 

And let me tell you, it was well worth the wait...Is this not a fabulous prize!!!  I love everything in here especially the ribbon.   I just had to share it with you....  Have a wonderful evening..

SOUS Fall Mini Album Angi Made for Me!

Hi everyone and happy Sunday...  I don't usually post on Sunday, but I just couldn't wait to share this beautiful Fall Mini Album I received from Angi at Cokie Pop Paper Boutique yesterday...  But yesterday we had a "BIG" B-day Party for little GS Colten and it was late when I got home!!   Angi and I were both on a Fall Mini Album SWAP over at Stuck On U Sketches.. so be sure and check out the challenge to see the other gorgeous albums everyone made, and you can see the one I made her here!!!  But right now just sit back and enjoy the beautiful mini Angi made for me!!!

Can you believe the Holiday Season is almost upon us, and 2 weeks from today I will be putting up my Christmas Tree!!!   WOW!  Even though we are getting into the holiday season, we still need to find time for ourself.. so I hope you find the time to play along with us over at Stuck On U Sketches because we have a gorgeous sketch for you...  It was designed by Vanessa Waller (Ness), DIL of DT Member Annette Gearside...  Take a look at it!!

And here's what I came up with..

 The Webster's Pages are gorgeous on their own, and I have so much trouble using them because I don't want to cover up the pretty designs..  But I really love the way this one turned out...  The photo of Savannah is just precious!!!  The photo was taken October, 2010 and I decided to make it a B&W... 

Here are a few close-ups!!

Here is the beautiful Prima Rossetti Rose Grace and Prima Summer Carnation Thistle vine, the Dusty Attic birdcage, the fussy cut tag and a little of the gorgeous lace ribbon...  The pink lace was sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Viva Pink and the birdcage was lightly painted with Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint - picket fence and then sprayed with the Tattered Angels Glimer Mist ~ Viva Pink.

Another photo of the lace and the Pink Paislee Artisan Element decorative corner which I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and then wiped off..  You can also see some of my distressing.

Here you can see a little of the fussy cutting I did on the roses...  You can also see some more distressing...

Here you can see that I cut the outer lace off of the doily and then sprayed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and added a pink Prima Say It In Crystals..
