16 x 20 Canvas Project

Hi everyone, hope you are well and staying warm on this cold Sunday!!  This is definitely the kind of weather to scrap and that's just what I have been doing...  My DIL Angela wanted to know if I could do a layout using a beautiful poem that her brother wrote about Christmas as the focal point.  I have never scrapped using anything but a photo as the focal point before, but I wanted to give it a try..  She also provided me with a few older photos and a few newer photos of her and her brothers, their families, and her parents... a total of 8 photos!  Well I knew I couldn't get it all on a 12 x 12 without making everything so small that it would be difficult to read the poem or to see the photos clearly..  So while I was debating on how to proceed, I came across this beautiful Noel Kit from BoBunny, which uses a 16 x 20 canvas.. OMGosh, this was perfect..  I think the hardest part was re-arranging the photos and deciding where to add the bling and chipboard embellies...  The chipboard embellies came with the kit, and the bling are from my stash...  I couldn't be happier with this Kit.  It was perfect for this project and I would love to get a few more, but, looks like a lot of other people like it too.  I've been checking back with them and right now they seem to be out of stock..

This will also qualify for a few challenges out there--
Alphabet Challenge ~ J for journey  (I see this as a journey from childhood to adult)
By The Cute and Girly ~ Bling It On
Craft Your Days Away ~ Anything Goes
Rainbow Lady's Challenge ~ It's New To Me  (working on canvas)

Thank you for dropping by!!
Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs!!

  2. Love this project, Fern. I saw that kit with the red canvas after I had done my clock project using these same papers and a canvas that I just painted. I think they are loads of fun. Love your placment of photos and the poem. I'm sure your DIL will love it! We got a dusting of snow but that's about it. Just preparing for the cold, cold weather moving in. Doing a little scrapping myself! LOL

Glad to hear the snow missed you...but I have to be honest... my kids were missing the snow from Indiana in a big way so this was really good for them! Now that they have played outside for two straight days I think they are ready for it to melt!!
