Hershey's luv pats!!! Frosted Designs-Sketch Along Tuesday

Hi everyone, it's Tuesday and that means that it's time for another Sketch Along Tuesday Challenge over at Frosted Designs...  And Guess what?  Yep, this weeks sketch is by lil' ole' me, again!!!  I hope you enjoy using these as much as I enjoy creating them...   Our sponsor for this month is Nikki Sivils and I had some of the Sugar Cookie collection left over from my layout I did for the last challenge, so I decided to make another layout using this "sweet" collection.  This is another layout of my DGD Savannah..  But, before I go into the details, I need to show you the sketch!
Just think of the possibilities!!!  I just wanted to make a cute and girly layout.  So I found these cute photos of GD Savannah taken back in December, 2008.  She was 3 1/2 years old and she is petting our very old kitty, Hershey, who was around 18 years old at the time.  She's no longer with us, but she had a wonderful and pampered life!!   Hershey was one of a kind..  The only safe place to pet her was her head..  Anywhere else and she might just take a chunk out of you....  Notice Savannah very cautiously petting her "boody", but not for long...  When that tail started swishing, you better watch out!!  She would let you know very quickly when she had had enough..  She lived to be close to 20 years before we lost her... And I can honestly say that we all miss her!!!
Here are a few close ups:
Here you can see some of the fun colors in this collection, the corduroy buttons and the sticker alphabet.

Here is a handmade flower I made using paper from the 6 x 6 mini paper pad.. I cut this out with the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die and added a Pearl Brad in the center... The leaves are individual leaves that I just layered and I added the curly piece.  This is all layered over Prima pearl bling..

Here you can see my hidden tag that I have journaled on.  This is made with the 7 Gypsies - Savannah Tag.. I layered this on a piece of SU Chocolate Chip CS, punched a hole and added some ribbon.
You can also see some of the punched border using the Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Border Punch.

And finally, here I fussy cut the hearts, added stickles and layered them over a piece of chocolate lace ribbon.

Here are a few challenges this qualifies for:
Dutch Dare Card Challenge ~ Sparkle, Glitter and Bling
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge ~ Make Your Own - I made my flower and added the individual leaves around it.
Incy Wincy Designs ~ Use punches or dies
Paper Play Challenge ~ Add Shine - stickles

Learning to Share ~ Stuck On U Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone!!!   Can you believe that it's Friday, again!  I don't know about you, but to me it seems like the weeks are flying by.  I only have 6 more weeks left at work!!  :o)  But, I'm going to be available by phone and drive in if they need me for awhile, which I don't mind at all...  It's still going to give me a lot of freedom to do the things I want to do, like, playing grandma and crafting... and if I have time, a little spring cleaning!!  Anyways, nuff about that...  Since it's Friday, it's time for another wonderful sketch challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches, and this time it's from PageMaps..
I pretty much followed the original sketch, just "flipped" it...  The photos I used were taken last December here at our place.  It was a gorgeous day and DS Levi, and DGS Colten were playing with the scooter...  Levi was pushing Colten around for awhile and then he decided to take it on a spin down the gravel road...  At first Colten was pushing him with one hand while he was holding the bat, and as Levi went faster, Colten couldn't stay up so he started waving the bat..  It was too cute...  I guess Colten thought daddy was getting a longer turn than he got, and was a little upset with him for not sharing!!!  LOL
Here are a few close ups
Here you can see some distressing, Cuttlebug Floral Borders, Letters from QuicKutz, Hardware with SU ribbon..

I fussy cut the little birds from Jenni Bowlin-Sparrow pp and then chalked them....

Amanda ~ Sweet 16 -- Sketches In Thyme Challenge

Hi everyone!!  Looks like we may be seeing the end of this nasty weather down here in Texas...  The only good thing about it is I didn't mind scrapping because the weather is so cold I don't want to be outside...  And since today is Thursday, we have another fabulous sketch over at Sketches In Thyme and I hope you will join us!!!  Here is the sketch...
While I was looking for photos to use for this layout.  I came across these photos of my DD Amanda taken back in 1998, I've been waiting to scrap them because I wanted to do something different.  So I looked through my ever ending paper stash and I came across the beautiful Creative Imaginations Signature Collection I got in Last Mays swirlydoos kit...  When I got the kit I had no idea what photo(s) to use with this beautiful paper.  But as I looked closer at the photos and paper,I think they would compliment each other nicely...  Luckily I had 2 of each of the pages so I could cut the curtains and layer them, and put the photo and heart between the layers...  I also added the fibers between the valance...  I'm thinking the results are elegant but playful and Amanda loved it....
Here are a few close ups
Here is a Petaloo flower cluster which I tied with a black satin ribbon..  You can also see one of the curtains I cut and layered over a piece of Creative Imaginations Christine Adolph paper...

Here is a Dusty Attic chandelier that I added stickles just to add a little/lot of sparkle, and the music notes are another Dusty Attic piece that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist..  You can also see a portion of the heart I cut out of Creative Imaginations Marah Johnson Creme Music paper, to give that layout that kind of dreamy/romantic feel...

And finally, here is a close up of the fun beaded eyelash trim and beautiful beaded ribbon I added to the valance for some fun texture...  You can see the Thickers  also...

This layout will qualify for the following challenges...
CES Challenge ~ Red and Romance
Cupcake Challenge ~ Seeing Red
Craft Your Days Away ~ Photo Inspiration ( Amanda has a single rose in the photo)
Fab "n" Funky ~ Tempting Textures
My Time To Craft ~ Flowers and Heart(s)  My heart is under the photos
Ooh La La Challenge ~ Someone Special

Here is the list of scrappy things I used on this layout...
Creative Imagination ~ Signature Theater Collection
Creative Imaginations ~ Christine Adolph
Creative Imaginations ~ Marah Johnson Creme Music
Red Glitter Paper

Ribbon
Beaded Ribbon
Beaded Eyelash Trim

Memories that last a lifetime! ~ SOUS Sketch Challenge

First of all, what is going on with this weather?!!!  It doesn't ever get this cold down here in Texas.... I can't wait for it to get back to our normal temps!!
The only good thing about today is...  TGIF..  and that means another fabulous sketch challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches!!  And for me, this weeks sketch was just a little tricky!!  But, you know, I think I did a pretty good job with it....   Here it is!

As you can see I changed it up just a little, but I tried to keep the "feel" of the original sketch... For this one I wanted to use these cute photos of DS Levi and sweet GS Colten doing what they do every night...  look at tractor magazines...  If you don't already know, Colten loooves tractors... When he comes over here he has his own set of magazines that he looks through over and over again.. And he does not tear them up!!  Anyway, the photos were taken by my DIL who so graciously shared them with me...  I got the black and white photo of the tractor background from one of my DH's Tractor Magazines and I just copied it off on some photo paper...  Since it was a b/w photo, I decided to print my photos in b/w too, and then decided to make a mono-chromatic layout....  Which I really like the way it turned out.

Here are a few close-ups
Here you can see the photo I printed and the stick on letters I added...

Here you can see a portion of the black CS which I painted with the Tim Holtz Distressing ink.. I like the way this really looks grungy!!

Here is my journaling tag..

Here is the metal tag from Teresa Collins which I rubbed with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, butterfly punched with the MS Butterfly Punch, a Prima Flower, and some Prima Say It In Crystal bling!!

And finally here is a close up of sweet little Colten and his daddy!!!

Here are a few other challenges this will qualify for:
Alphabet Challenge ~ N for Numbers
Creative Prompts ~ Choose one of their last 50 challenges... I chose the colors from Challenge #45  Whisper
Cupcake Craft Challenge ~ Old MacDonald Had a Farm

Here is the list of scrappy list of items I used:

Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint ~ Vintage Photo
Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue

And then we would love for you to play along with us..  Remember you have 2 weeks to create a layout using this sketch...  I don't know if you've noticed, but we are now doing tutorials on our off Fridays.  The next one will be Friday the 11th.  Our first tutorial was last Friday, where Nanne shared with us how to make Lace Rosette Flowers that you can use on your layouts, your cards, or really any project you're working on...  If you didn't get a chance to see it, click here!!  You will definitely want to try your hand at making some of these!!!
